Brave Web 3 Browser Partnered with Solana, Improves BAT Utility With Latest Update

Wow, it's been a hectic couple of months for the BAT community. Not only has Brave Web 3 Browser partnered with Solana, but also Brave Desktop 1.39 comes with a major update.

This article will introduce my readers to these changes and how they can benefit your browsing experience!

Now you guys can explore Web 3 with much lower transaction fees with this new version of Brave.

In their latest tweet they said that with its latest update 1.39, now Brave Wallet users can:

  • Buy, sell, and store both Solana (SOL) and fungible Solana tokens (SPL) in Brave Wallet
  • Buy SOL and other cryptocurrencies with fiat via Ramp

And Basic Attention Token (BAT) holders also can:

  • Use BAT on the Solana chain wrapped via Wormhole, and on chains compatible with Ethereum and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)

This means that now Brave Wallet users can transact SOL and SPL tokens directly from their Brave Wallet. Also, they will be able to purchase other cryptocurrencies with fiat through its integration with Ramp.

During its launch event Brendan Eich the CEO and co-founder of Brave said, "As the leading Web 3 browser, Brave is now providing integration with Solana's blockchain so that users and developers can seamlessly transact on their fast, low-fee network."

And! Brendan Eich also noted that the firm will provide decentralised app (dApp) support in a future release.

Brave Wallet and BAT integrated with Solana

According to Brave official site, it has been stated that Brave integration with solana will make it easier for newcomers to adapt the web 3 technology and get their crypto onboard.

The reason why Brave added Solana is that solana has some of the lowest gas fees and fastest performance of any blockchain. By integrating with Solana, Brave (and Brave Wallet) is expanding multi-chain support and possibilities for all users.

The first feature within this integration allows brave users to send, store and receive solana and SPL(Solana Program Library) tokens directly into Brave Wallet.

“Brave’s inclusion of Solana in the wallet is an important step on the path to onboarding a billion users to Web3,” said Anatoly Yakovenko, Co-Founder of Solana.

Hence its clear that the vision of Brave is to leverage solana as the default network for Bravewallet and BAT.
